Medusa Edged Weapon System
A modern reality-based edged-weapon system (Medusa Italia, founded by Manuel Coltro) — practical knife defense and combatives, not based on any traditional or cultural style.
Full program detailsOur affiliate school in Verona, Italy, led by instructor Manuel Coltro — bringing the same standards of authenticity, discipline, and respect to students across Europe.
The Italy affiliate school extends the Warrior Unlimited lineage into Verona under the direction of Manuel Coltro. Manuel teaches a complete curriculum spanning edged-weapon work, bushcraft and wilderness survival, functional self-defense (JKD, Kali, and RAT), Irish stick-fighting, and Wing Chun — all rooted in the same principles Master Jerald White teaches in Santa Maria.
Two programs have their own dedicated pages with full curricula and instructor details; the others are summarized below.

Full program detailsA functional, no-nonsense self-defense program that blends Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Kali, and Paul Vunak's Rapid Assault Tactics into one integrated method. Manuel teaches the JKD framework of intercepting, trapping, and economy of motion; Kali's empty-hand, stick, and blade flow; and RAT's high-percentage attributes — the headbutt, elbows, knees, eye jab, groin strike, and the straight blast — designed to end a real encounter in seconds. Training is alive: focus mitts, pad work, limb destructions, and progressively resistant sparring build timing, distance, and the willingness to act under pressure.
The living tradition of Irish stick combat, taught with the shillelagh — a short, weighted hardwood cudgel historically carried as a walking stick and last-resort self-defense tool. Manuel's program covers the classical one-handed and two-handed grips, footwork rooted in Irish boxing, and the full vocabulary of strikes, blocks, hooks, and thrusts. Drills move from solo forms and partner flows into controlled sparring, with an emphasis on the modern utility of a walking stick or umbrella as an everyday carry tool for self-defense.
Classical Wing Chun kung fu — a close-range Chinese system built on structure, centerline theory, and economy of motion. Manuel teaches the three empty-hand forms (Siu Nim Tao, Chum Kiu, Biu Jee), the wooden dummy (Muk Yan Jong), and progressive chi sao (sticking hands) drills that develop sensitivity, timing, and the ability to react without thinking. The program is open to beginners and to martial artists from other styles who want to add Wing Chun's trapping range and close-quarters tools to their game.
